We collect only what a made-to-order blouse needs — your measurements, your contact details, and the reference photos you send us — and we treat all three as yours, not ours.

What we collect, and why

  • Contact details — name, WhatsApp number, email, delivery address and pincode. Used to prepare your quote, coordinate the order and dispatch the piece. Nothing else.
  • Measurements and fit notes — the numbers you enter, sizing preferences and anything you tell the tailor. Used to cut and stitch your blouse; kept with your order record so a repeat order doesn't start from zero.
  • Reference photos you upload — screenshots, saved designs, photos of a saree or an existing blouse, sent through the customization brief or in chat. Covered in full in the next section.
  • On this website — your cart, wishlist and draft brief are stored in your own browser (localStorage), not on our servers. We run no advertising trackers and we do not sell, rent or trade any personal data with anyone, ever.

Your reference photos — the full promise

Photos you upload with a brief are personal, and sometimes they are of you or of people you know. So, plainly:

  • Stored to prepare your quote — and, if you order, to work the piece. They are kept with your enquiry record and seen only by the designer and the artisans working your order.
  • Deleted on request — message us on WhatsApp or email hello@srideviembroideryworks.com with your ref number and we delete the photos from our records within 7 days, whether or not you ordered. If you never order, we delete brief photos ourselves within 90 days of the enquiry closing.
  • Never shared — not with other customers, not on our Instagram, not with other studios, not with anyone. Photos of finished Sridevi pieces appear on our channels only with the wearer's explicit yes, asked per photo — an order is never treated as consent.
  • Location data stripped — GPS coordinates and other embedded metadata (EXIF) are removed from JPEG, PNG and WebP photos on our server the moment they arrive, before anything is written to disk. HEIC and HEIF files — the iPhone default — cannot be rewritten without re-encoding the picture, so those are stored exactly as you sent them. If that matters to you, send a JPEG.

How long we keep things

  • Enquiries that don't become orders: brief details and photos deleted within 90 days.
  • Order records (measurements, spec, invoices): kept as long as needed to honour the 15-day alteration window, the 6-month stone re-fix promise and tax record requirements — then the personal parts are deleted or anonymised.
  • Ask us to delete your record sooner and we will, keeping only what tax law obliges an invoice to retain.

Who touches your data

The studio team, and the minimum service providers an order physically needs: the courier gets your name, address and phone number to deliver the parcel; WhatsApp carries the conversation you start with us (governed by WhatsApp's own terms); our website host stores enquiry records. None of them receives anything beyond what their job requires, and none may use it for anything else.

Your rights

Ask any time to see what we hold about you, correct it, or have it deleted — one WhatsApp message or an email to hello@srideviembroideryworks.com is the whole process. We reply within one working day and complete deletion within 7. We comply with India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a way that affects you — especially anything about photos — the “updated” date at the top changes and active order conversations are told directly. The promise that your photos are never shared does not have a version number; it is the fixed point the rest is written around. Terms of service are here.

Last updated July 2026. These terms apply to every order, whether placed on this site, on WhatsApp, or at the T. Nagar studio. Questions: contact the studio or read the FAQ.
